Student-Athletes Receive C-USA Academic Medals

Fourty Marshall student-athletes held GPA's of 3.75 or better.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - A total of 538 student-athletes, 40 from Marshall, have earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal during the 2011-12 academic year, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced Tuesday. Medals are given to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.

For the second year in a row, Tulsa had the most academic medal winners with 63. TU was followed closely by Memphis with 60 and East Carolina with 49. Marshall's 40 ranked fifth. The total number of medalists honored increased by more than 10 percent from a year ago.
