Thirty-Eight Marshall Student-Athletes Earn C-USA Academic Medal

IRVING, Texas -

Conference USA announced the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal winners Friday and Marshall University boasts 38 student-athletes on the prestigious list that honors student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.

A total of 394 student-athletes have earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal during the 2008-09 academic year, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced.

Memphis had the most academic medal winners with 48, followed closely by SMU with 46, East Carolina with 40, Tulsa with 39 and Marshall with 38. The total number of academic medal recipients increased by more than 17 percent this season.
