HUNTINGTON, W.Va.-The Big Green Scholarship Foundation has seen its membership and support increase over the past year, and now its staff has grown as well.

Executive Director, John Sutherland, recently hired Hurricane native, Doug Wallace, for the position of Assistant Director of Development in the Big Green. Wallace is a 2004 graduate of Hurricane High School where he played baseball and was a part of the 2002 state championship team. He went on to play at Liberty University where he graduated with a degree in Sport Management in 2008 and assisted with Liberty’s athletic fundraising arm, the Flames Club.

“In the short time he has been with us, Doug has shown he will be an outstanding addition to our staff,” Sutherland said. “His athletic and development background has helped the Big Green in cultivating donors and formulating policies that will help us to serve our membership even better. His ties to the Putnam County area are important as we continue to grow our base outside of Huntington.”

Wallace and his fiancé, Jenna Eatmon, plan to marry in the summer of 2012.
