Andrew Wiede enters his second year as an assistant with the Operations and Facilities department after serving in the same position for the 2012-2013 year. Prior to his time with the Thundering Herd, Wiede worked as an assistant with the Athletic Facilities and Event Operations department at High Point University from 2008-2012, aiding both the Assistant Director of Facilities & Game Operations as well as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities & Game Operations.
As an assistant with his current department, Wiede is responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of athletic event participants and spectators, and assisting in other athletic game day operations including set-up and tear-down of events as well as daily maintenance and upkeep of university athletic facilities.
Having had extensive experience in the facilities and event operations field, the 23-year old New York native looks to utilize his previous experience to further develop and expand his professional skills and abilities in athletics.
A former long-time resident of Buffalo, N.Y., Wiede received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration at High Point University in 2012. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Sport Administration at Marshall University.
Wiede currently resides in Huntington, W.Va.
