William "Billy" Biggs currently serves as an academic counselor for the Marshall University Buck Harless Student Athlete Program. He serves as a counselor for Women's Track, Volleyball, Swimming, Baseball, Cheerleading and Men's Cross Country. He also oversees the tutoring program and supervises all tutors for BHSAP. His duties also include monitoring academic progress, NCAA rules and regulations, career advising and mentoring all of his student-athletes. He takes great pride in seeing all of his student-athletes grow and prosper during their time at Marshall.
Biggs came to Marshall after a successful professional baseball career within the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. He spent 2002-2005 traveling the country playing for five Diamondbacks affiliates that hail from Tucson, AZ, Yakima, WA, Lancaster, CA, South Bend, IN, El Paso, TX and Knoxville, TN. Biggs graduated from West Virginia University in 2006 and has a Master's Degree from Marshall University. Biggs was a three year letter winner at West Virginia University as a pitcher for Head Coach Greg Van Zant. He is also a local product of Hurricane High School.
Biggs currently resides in Huntington and enjoys numerous activities that include reading, running in Ritter Park and following his favorite sports team the Cincinnati Reds.
