Melissa Chohon is in her second season as assistant athletic trainer at Marshall. She works with women's basketball, tennis and indoor and outdoor track and field, while overseeing swimming and diving, men's and women's cross country, volleyball and women's soccer.
The Nebraska-Native graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Education with a concentration in Athletic Training. While at UNO Chohon served as the Nebraska state representative to the National Athletic Trainers' Association District Five and the President of the District Five Student Leadership Council. She earned her Master's degree From Marshall University in 2011 where she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Thundering Herd women's soccer, indoor track and field and tennis teams.
After graduate school, Chohon worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Lecturer of Exercises Science at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was the athletic trainer for the Beaver's men's soccer program along with the women's tennis team, men's golf team, men's and women's cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams.
Chohon is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. She currently resides in Huntington and enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking and watching basketball and soccer.
