Tom Hammett was hired as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Marshall University in the summer of 2011. He will primarily be covering football and assisting with baseball in the spring.

Hammett received his bachelor's degree in Education and Human Sciences majoring in Athletic Training from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May 2011. While at UNL, he worked with the track and field, wrestling, and football teams. Hammett also worked for Injury Prevention and Care in the UNL Campus Recreation Center as well as covered intramural and sport club events. He was the UNL representative to the Nebraska State Athletic Trainers Association as well as the Executive Director of the District V Athletic Training Student Leadership Council. Hammett will be working towards a Master's degree in Athletic Training while at Marshall University.

Hammett is originally from Marysville, Kansas. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching and playing sports, golfing, and reading.
