Ira Fowler joined Marshall University in August of 2016 and is the athletic trainer for the Men’s Soccer team and Women’s Swim and Dive team. Ira obtained his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at Shawnee State University in 2013. He graduated with a Master’s of Science in Athletic Training from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2015 where he worked two years as a graduate assistant, providing athletic training services to a variety of teams and while serving as a preceptor to the athletic training education program. Ira served as an athletic trainer at Virginia Military Institute working with the Men’s Soccer and Baseball teams before coming to Marshall University. Ira has been a Certified Athletic Trainer since 2013 and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2015. He obtained his Corrective Exercise Specialist in 2015 and his Performance Enhancement Specialist in 2016. He is also trained in positional release therapy by the Positional Release Therapy Institute.
