Lisa Williamson joined Marshall University Athletics in August 2016 as the Associate Athletic Director for Academic Services. Lisa has 25 years of experience at Marshall, 23 years of which were spent in the College of Business, most recently as the director of student services. As such, she was responsible for the academic advising of business majors, specializing in student-athletes and students who were on academic probation. In addition, Lisa also taught several business courses, including leadership and developing academic study skills.
As director of the Buck Harless Student Athlete Program, she leads a team of student success specialists, an assistant director of compliance for eligibility and academics, graduate assistants, and tutors. Together, they oversee the athletic eligibility of approximately 400 student-athletes. The Academic Center also employs approximately 60 tutors each semester, conducting over 400 tutoring sessions each week.
Lisa holds a master’s degree in Adult and Technical Education from Marshall University. Her husband, Rob, also works at Marshall in the IT department. Together they have two grown children.
