Sergio Valverde joins Marshall University for his first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Thundering Herd Football and Women's Tennis programs.
Prior to arriving at Marshall, Valverde spent two years at The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas (2015-2017) as a graduate assistant working with softball and volleyball and received his Master of Science in Sports Management.
Valverde, originally from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, received his Bachelors in Athletic Training from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2015. While at Texas he worked as a student athletic trainer with football, track and field, rowing and tennis. During the summer, Valverde spends his time with the Mexican National American Football Teams in its different categories.
