Big Green Donor of the Week: Joe Angus

Jan. 24, 2011

This week's Big Green Donor of the Week has become almost a cult figure in the Herd Nation. You've seen his truck driving down the road reminding every Herd fan (and WVU fans, too!) of the big win over WVU last week in the Capital Classic. We've seen his truck both on the highway and the message boards. But who is this guy?

His name is Joe Angus.

Joe is from Ripley, WV. and grew up a Mountaineer fan until his wife, Rina, along with their Herd friends, brought Joe into the Marshall family. He says he doesn't know how to explain it, but there is something special about Marshall.

"You don't have to be an alum to love Marshall".

Well said.

Joe and his family now live in the Barboursville area. His son, Colton, is a sophomore at Marshall and his daughter, Kendra, will enroll at MU next year.

Needless to say, Joe is truly spreading the word about the Herd!!

Favorite Marshall Athlete: Byron Leftwich

Favorite Marshall Moment: "The look on my brother's face (WVU grad) at the 2005 Capital Classic when Marshall beat 15th ranked WVU!"

Why I give to the Big Green: "Because I want to win! I play the Powerball every week and if I ever win we will have one of the best indoor practice facilitites in the nation!"
