Big Green Donor of the Week: Glenn and Nell Brumfield
March 21, 2012
This week's donor of the week is Glenn and Nell Brumfield.
After graduating Glenn served two years in Patten's Third Army in WWII. After his two years of service he returned to Huntington, WV where he opened one of Huntington's longest standing businesses, Glenn's Sporting Goods in 1970. Glenn's has always been one of Marshall's greatest supports and that still rings true today.
Last week the Brumfield's made a generous gift to the Vision Campaign, and present their gift to Athletic Director Mike Hamrick. "This gift from the Brumfield's comes from a critical time for Marshall Athletics, said Hamrick. We hope that all of our supports will do what they can to help Marshall realize its vision for the future."
Favorite Marshall Moment:
Our favorite Marshall Moment has to be all the different trips we have be blessed to make with the Marshall Football team over the years.
Favorite Marshall Player:
Glenn: Sam Clagg
Nell: The Chad to Randy connection. Most memorable was the Army game when Randy leaped over the defender. They were so much fun to watch.
Why We Gave to the Vision Campaign
We understand the importance of these new facilities. Marshall and Mike Hamrick have a wonderful dream to help our University to continue to stay relevant on the national scene.
