The popular 2010 Big Green coaches Tour is looking at an upcoming whirlwind week with four stops in four days throughout southern West Virginia.
The caravan goes to Beckley on Monday, Princeton on Tuesday, Logan on Wednesday and Hurricane on Thursday to give most Marshall fans in these areas their first chance to meet and greet football coach Doc Holliday, basketball coach Tom Herrion and athletic director Mike Hamrick.
On Monday, the Marshall contingent will join the Beckley Big Green chapter on the links at Grandview Country Club for a noon shot-gun start scramble followed by a cookout. Larry Foster will take all reservations at 304-573-5336 or Spartan@suddenlinkmail.com.
On Tuesday, the tour moves south to Princeton where the Herd coaches will gather with Herd fans at a Four Seasons Big Green dinner at the Chuck Mathena Center. Reservations for the 6:30 p.m. reception/dinner can be made by contacting Roger Topping at 304-920-9696 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Wednesday, the trek takes the Herd group to Logan County for a 11:30 a.m. luncheon followed by a golf scramble at the Logan Country Club in Chapmanville. Jim Davidson, just recently selected to the Marshall Sports Hall of Fame, will be honored at the luncheon. Call David Dean at email@example.com for reservations.
Then on Thursday, the annual Big Green gathering at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Hurricane will give the Putnam County Herd fans a chance to meet the Marshall crew. This event is a 6 p.m. dinner with limited seating so those who want to come should make their reservations by calling the Big Green Office at 304-696-4661.
The tour winds up with visits to Cincinnati on Sunday, June 13; Charlotte, N.C. on Tuesday, June 22, and golf on the Old White Course at The Greenbrier on July 13. For more information on these events, call the Big Green office at 304-696-4661.
