Oct. 5, 2010
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Travis Epling has been named the Assistant Director of Athletic Development for the Big Green Scholarship Foundation.
"As a recipient of an athletic scholarship, Travis understands the value of the Big Green and what we do for our student-athletes," Big Green Executive Director John Sutherland said. "We are glad to have him on board."
Epling competed as a member of Marshall's Cross Country team from 2004 to 2008, earning all-conference accolades during his senior season. The Point Pleasant, W.Va., native graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 2008 and earned his master's degree in human resource management from Marshall in 2010.
"I am grateful for this opportunity that gives me the chance to give back to my alma-mater," Epling said. "Being a former student-athlete, I have a unique perspective on how important the Big Green is and I look forward to helping our current and future student-athletes."
Epling's duties include working as the primary liaison with Big Green Chapters in Cincinnati, Central Kentucky, Meigs-Gallia-Mason Counties and the Lincoln County Big Green Club. He will also oversee the Big Green Scholarship Foundation's webpage on Herdzone.com.
