Cheerleaders Finish Fourth at Nationals|

Daytona Beach, Fla. - Marshall University's co-ed cheerleading squad finished fourth out of 17 squads in the intermediate co-ed division at the National Cheerleaders Association's National Championships this weekend in Daytona Beach, Fla.
"The team did well both days," Marshall assistant coach Duane Nutt said. "The had a lot more energy on the the second day after they got over some nervousness and improved their performance greatly. We are very proud of them."
The Marshall squad earned its first bid to Nationals in five years with a strong performance at cheer camp last fall.
Central Oklahoma won the national championship, while Army finished second. Oral Roberts placed third, Marshall fourth and Indiana State was fifth. Wake Forest, Georgia State, Texas-San Antonio, Maryland and Air Force rounded out the top 10.
