Cheerleading Gears Up For WVU Game

Sept. 8, 2010

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The 2010 football home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 10, as the Marshall University cheer squad is ready for the in-state rivalry with the Mountaineers of West Virginia.

With a core group of returners, accompanied by a fresh crop of newcomers, the cheerleaders are eager to help root on the Herd as they look to defeat WVU for the first time in program history.

As the thunder approaches, the cheer team is called upon to provide the lightning. With routines set for each media timeout, the Herd faithful will be loud and rowdy in rooting as one side screams WE ARE, and the other screams MARSHALL.

Entering his second season at the Helm of MU cheer squad, Duane Nutt has his team rearing to go. Kickoff is set for 7:04 p.m. Friday evening and the game will be aired live on ESPN.
