A four year varsity member, Caleb Bowen competed for the Thundering Herd Cross Country team from 2011-2014. He led the Marshall men in five out of six meets during his senior year. He finished 25th in the 2014 Conference USA Championship. His career best time of 25:07 for the 8k was posted at the Richmond Cross Country Only National Invitational. He was a four year member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll, a Conference USA Academic Medalist in 2011, and an Academic All-American in 2012.
 
A native of Hurricane, W. Va., Bowen graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education with a specialization in Social Studies. He is currently working towards his Doctorate in Cirriculum Instruction.

Since Bowen was hired to the Herd staff, he has helped oversee three All-Conference USA runners in cross country and nine broken school distance records in track.
