Willie Johnson is primarily involved with the Thundering Herd's track and field team, but also assists Coach Small with the cross country team.
A native of Orlando, Fla., Johnson first arrived at Marshall as a graduate assistant in 2005 following a 4-year undergraduate career at Florida State that saw him earn All-ACC and All-American honors.
Following a stint as the assistant coach at Redford University, Johnson rejoined Marshall's track and field and cross country programs in order to help them ascend the C-USA and national-level ladders.
He and his wife Lacee reside in Huntington.
