Herd Cross Country Closes 2017 Campaign at Mid-Atlantic Regionals
Green, Cook lead Herd at Lehigh
BETHLEHEM, Pa.—The Marshall cross country team completed its season in frigid conditions Friday morning at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals hosted by Lehigh University.
The men finished 20th out of 26 schools with a point total of 576 in its first 10K race of the season. Junior Daniel Green was the top finisher for the Herd just like he has done so in every race this season, finishing in 67th with a time of 31:47.1.
The women ran in a 6K for the second time this season, and was led by junior Adriana Cook who led the Herd in five of six meets this season. She finished in 103rd with a time of 22:10.1. Senior Barkley Castro finished 159th with a time of 23:17.9. Sophomore Mary Kerby came through next with a time of 23:38.9, finishing in 172nd.
Finishing back-to-back in 177th and 178th was junior Taylor Craigo (23:55.8) and senior Samantha Graffius (23:57.4). Sophomore Abigail Short ran in 24:06.9 and finished in 181st. Senior Jane Jensen ran in 24:49.9 and finished in 188th.
As a team the women finished in 27th place with a point total of 789.

The Marshall cross country season concludes, marking the next date to look for as Thursday, December 7 in the track and field team’s first indoor meet against Ohio University.
