Thundering Herd Cross Country Teams Predicted Top-10 in Preseason Poll

The men are predicted sixth; the women are predicted eighth

IRVING, Texas--Both the Marshall men's and women's cross country teams were predicted to finish within the top-10 in the Conference USA preseason poll, the league office announced Wednesday.

The men's team was predicted to finish sixth out of 11 schools. The team last year finished sixth at the Conference USA Championships with a point total of 158. The team returns junior Daniel Green, who led the Herd at the conference meet with a 17th place finish, earning third-team All-Conference USA honors.

The women's team was predicted to finish eighth out of 13 schools. Like the men's team, this was also the finish of the team at the 2016 Conference USA Championship Meet. The team returns junior Adriana Cook, who finished 16th in the conference meet last year, earning third-team All-Conference USA honors.

The 2017 Conference USA Cross Country Championships will take place on October 28, and will be hosted by Southern Miss.
