Bowling Green, Ohio - Marshall's men's cross country team notched a 5th place finish at the Mel Brodt Invitational at Bowling Green.

Senior Travis Epling (Point Pleasant, W.Va.) led the team for the time this year with an 18th place finish with a time 25:52.13. Junior Matt Null (Hometown, W.Va.) finished 21st with a time of 25:53.60.

Women's cross country finished in 12th with freshman Ellen Kist (Parkersburg W.Va.) finishing a women's best 50th with a time of 19:25.47.

Malone College won the men's division and Ohio University took the women's division.

Cross Country will return to action Sept. 29 when it runs in the Loyola Lakefront Classic in Chicago, Ill.
