Marshall Cross Country Heads South

Greenville, S.C. - The Marshall University Cross Country team will run in its final meet of the season in Greenville, S.C., in the 35th annual Furman Invitational October 13. The event will be held at the Furman University Golf Course with the men's 8k race beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the women's 5k at 9 a.m.

Leading the men's team will be senior Travis Epling (Point Pleasant, W.Va.). Epling has been the Marshall's top finisher twice this fall with his best finish (14th) coming at the EKU Open back in September.

On the women's side, freshmen Ellen Kist (Parkersburg, W.Va.) comes into the event as the top finisher for the Herd this season after finishing 12th at the Mel Brodt Invitational.

This is the team's final meet of the year before heading to the Conference USA Championships in El Paso, Texas October 27.
