EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Thundering Herd cross country teams are departing this Friday for the Evansville Cross Country Invitational, which is set to take place at the University of Evansville Cross Country Course at 12:00 p.m. E.T. on Saturday.
The men – represented by runners Trey Beckett, Caleb Bowen, Ryan Bowser, David Caldwell, Chris Cole, Josh Feather, Phil Provenzano, Matt Schiffbauer, Jack Whitney, and Alex Zurbuch – will start their 8k meet at 12:00, and the women – carrying a squad with Lauren Bartoldson, Kristin Roles, Paige Govey, Celia Leonard, Zoe Leonard, Whitney Lewis, Molly Miloscia, Kelley Mortakis, Samantha Stroker, and Leslie Thomas – will begin their 5k race immediately afterward.

Jeff Small will lead his teams into the meet hoping to improve upon the results picked up at the Louisville Classic, where
Matt Schiffbauer placed 6
th overall saw his men’s team finish 25
th out of 29 squads. The women, though, finished just inside the top half in 16
th place out of 32 teams, and will be hoping to move even further up the standings in Evansville.
Leslie Thomas paced the Herd at Louisville with a 27
th place finish.
The University of Evansville Cross Country Course is located near the intersection of I-64 and US Route 41. The trail consists of rolling hills and 99.9 percent grass and has been recognized as one of the top courses in the Midwest. For maps of the course, please click here.
