Pyles Finishes Seventh for Men's Cross Country at Eastern Kentucky Open

RICHMOND, Ky. - The Marshall University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Eastern Kentucky Open on Friday in Richmond, Ky.

Senior Jason Pyles (Galipolis Ferry, W.Va.) was the top finisher for the men's team. Pyles finished in 7th place with a time of 26:34.40. Freshman Jon Nelson (Barboursville, W.Va.) placed 10th with a time of 27:04.80.

On the women's side the top finisher was Emily Bailey (Kenova, W.Va.) who placed 14th with a time of 20:08.40. Placing in 17th was junior Stephanie Achilles (Deptford, N.J.) in a time of 20:40.80.

Host team Eastern Kentucky captured the top spots for both the men and the women. Jacob Korir won the men's race with a time of 24:52.70 and Wendee Embry had the top spot with a time of 17:52.40.

The Thundering Herd will next be in action on Oct. 30 at the MAC Championship.
