Herd Cross Country Carries Momentum into Evansville Invitational

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – After coming off a stellar performance at the Furman Invitational, the Marshall University men’s and women’s cross country teams head to the Evansville Invitational for their final preparation before the Conference USA championships.

 

The meet starts at 11 a.m. and has a field of 16 universities. The men’s 8K will start first, followed by the women’s 5K race, approximately at 11:30 a.m.

 

The men placed first at the Furman Invitational out of 15 teams last week. Matt Schiffbauer was the top overall finisher and was 10 second clear of second place.

 

The women finished fifth out of 16 teams. Kathleen Clark and Allison Cox were the top performers for the Herd as they were 22nd and 23rd respectively.

 


 

 

After Indiana, MU takes a week off to get ready for the Conference USA championships which will be raced on Halloween. The University of Houston will host the meet.
