Career: Began his Marshall career at short stop in his true freshman season before being moved to second base 30 games in...extremely intelligent hitter who rarely goes down on strikes...singled to left in his first collegiate plate appearance (2/17), drove in his first run a day later (2/18), and scored for the first time in the team's first true weekend series (2/24)...battled long counts with some of the league's top pitchers in each of his first two seasons and has become a consistent hitter in the Marshall lineup, seeing time leading off and in the three-hole.
2014:Started all 51 games for the Herd at second base, committing just seven errors on the season...went 4-for-6 with a double, run, and RBI on 2/22 versus North Carolina A&T... hit the Herd's first home run of the year on 3/01 versus Duke...had 12 multi-hit games this season, including 3-for-4 performances on 3/15 versus Southern Miss and 4/08 versus Eastern Kentucky...led the team with 21 runs scored this season and 215 plate appearances and tied for first in walks with Corey Bird (20)...second on the team with 45 hits and tied for second with teammates Aaron Bossi and Robert Fajardo with seven stolen bases.
2013: Was the only member of the Thundering Herd to start in all 54 games...made 48 starts at second, five at DH, and one at short...led Marshall in hitting for 61% of the season (including a span from 3/1 to 4/13)...saw his average rise to .406 after a 2-for-2 effort against USC Upstate (3/3)...batted .333 during the month of February (7-for-21) and March (24-for-72)...team second-best 17 multihit games (Ballou had 20), including three three-hit games and a four-hit clinic against No. 19 Houston...batted 7-for-13 (.538) in the Houston series and 13-for-29 (.448) against nationally ranked opposition...stole a team second-best 11 bases (Ballou had 13) in 14 chances...led the team in sacrifice hits (10).
2012: Batted .264 in 53 games, making 50 starts as a true freshman...singled in his first plate appearance against NC State (2/17)...recorded his first multihit game against Charleston Southern (2/26)...freshman jitters saw his average shrink to .154 in the middle of March but he responded by batting .409 in the month of April...tallied 12 multihit games and drove in multiple runs five times...strung together a span of 17 games reaching base.
High School: Played baseball and basketball at Boonton High School...lettered four years in baseball and two in basketball...batted .580, hit 12 homeruns, and knocked in 37 RBIs in senior season...also went 4-1 on the mound with 60 strikeouts...2011 NJAC Liberty Player of the Year recipient...captain of the baseball team junior and senior seasons...three-time Morris County and Daily Record selection...two-time NJAC Liberty Division selection (2010-11)...two-time Colonial Hills selection (2008, 2010)...first team Group One selection (2011)...all-time school leader in hits (110), homeruns (14), RBIs (104), career average (.490)...hit three home runs in Morris County semifinal game in 2011.
