Prior to Marshall Baseball: Played two seasons as a quarterback for the Marshall football team...started 11-of-12 game during his freshman campaign in 2008... went 11 for 22 including an 88 yard pass, his longest of the season, in his two touchdown effort against Illinois State in his first collegiate game...threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns in a 23-21 loss at UAB...averaged 157.0 total offensive yards a game...finished the season with 1,767 passing yards, 14 passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and 13 interceptions.

High School: Selected to the 2006 North-South All-Star game...named the 2005 Region 2-A Athlete-of-the-Year...multi-sport standout who was a two-time all-state player in baseball and a two-time all-region player in basketball...recorded 5,549 yards passing with 41 touchdowns and five addition rushing scores in his prep career...rated as the No. 25 player in South Carolina by Rivals.com.
