Career: Began his true freshman season as a middle reliever before being moved to the starting rotation, eventually making weekend starts over the last seven weeks of 2012...took his first winning decision in a come-from-behind win over Liberty (4/1/2012)...struck out the first hitter he faced looking (2/26).

2014:Made 15 appearances, including two midweek starts and two weekend starts...picked up his first collegiate save on 4/01 versus Akron with a two-inning, three-strikeout performance...was second among the Marshall pitching staff in ERA for much of the season...made two appearances this season where he pitched one inning and struck out two-of-three (2/21-North Carolina A&T) (4/18-WVU Tech Tech)...recorded 20 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings.

2013: Red-shirted, did not play.

2012: Appeared in seven games as a reliever before becoming a member of the starting rotation for the final seven weeks of the year...struck out the first hitter he faced looking (2/26) and claimed his first winning decision against Liberty (4/1)...went 2-5 mostly due to a lack of run support...posted a quality start against No. 9 Rice, holding the Owls to two runs on seven hits over six innings (4/15)...pitched well despite an early exit against No. 13 UCF: gave up two earned runs on six hits in 3.1 innings (5/11)...closed out the season with a winning decision against Tulane where he and fellow freshman Joe McGillicuddy combined for a shutout (5/19).

High School: Attended South Dade where he played baseball and bowled...went 7-1 with an earned run average of 2.90 his junior year...struck out 43 in 64.0 innings of work...boasted a record of 8-2 on the hill his senior year...2.40 ERA in 76.0 innings pitched...struck out 94...named first team All-Dade and Pitcher of the Year...team won district championship and was regional finalists.

Personal: Born on Oct. 5, 1992...son of Keith and Deneen Elder...father played football at Georgia Military College...has two older sisters, Auburn (23) and Michele (21)...majoring in business management with a minor in accounting.
