Career Notes: Smooth swing with quick bat speed...younger brother of Victor Gomez...great glove at 1B but has also seen time in left field...led the team in hitting in 2012...ranks sixth all-time at Marshall in games played (199), fifth in at-bats (648), seventh in hits (187), third in doubles (42), and seventh in walks (90).

2013: Held the team's third-best average of .275 over 52 games (all starts)...hit eight doubles, a triple, and two homers...drove in 24 runs and scored 18...batted .302 (19-for-63) in March and .313 (20-for-64) in April...recorded multiple hits in 16 games and three hits in four games...belted a home run and drove in three runs in a victory over No. 19 Houston (4/5)...went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI's and a run in game two of a doubleheader against Northern Kentucky (3/9)...drew three walks in game one of that doubleheader...saw his season average climb to a team-leading .333 after a 3-for-4 outing at Radford (3/23).

2012: Led the Thundering Herd in hitting with a .316 average...held the highest average among the team for 56% of the season...drove in a team-high 39 RBIs (tied for ninth in Conference USA at conclusion of regular season)...notched back-to-back three-hit games against Charleston Southern (2/25-2/26)...recorded a team-most 17 multihit games with 12 multi-RBI games...hit three homers, including long balls in back-to-back games against Eastern Michigan (3/2-3/3)...led the team and ranked third in C-USA with 17 doubles...slugged .442.

2011: Played in 43 games - primarily in left field - and started in 36...batted .252 (30-for-119)...slugged .387 with four doubles and four homeruns...boasted six multi-hit games and even strung together a six-game hit streak where he went 7-for-18 (.300) with two homeruns...drove in 21 runs and scored 16 more...recorded 2 outfield assists.

2010: Emerged as the everyday first baseman...played in 51 games and made 34 starts...hit at an even .300 (39-for-130) clip...finished second on the team in doubles with 13...collected 19 RBI and scored 17 multi-hit and three multi-RBI games...produced an eight-game hit streak (4/21-5/1)...during a six-game span went 10-for-21 (5/18-5/27)...went a perfect 3-for-3 against Memphis (4/3)...connected for his first collegiate homer vs. Coppin State (4/21).

High School: Four-year starter at La Salle HS...tallied a .385 batting average with four homers and 26 RBI senior year...three-time Miami Herald All-Miami Dade County honorable mention selection...set the school single-season ERA (1.24) record as a freshman in won district title in 2007...named Athlete of the Year at La Salle HS.

Personal: Born Jan. 7, 1991...son of Nevada Alba and Victor Gomez...has one brother, Victor, who holds numerous Marshall baseball records and was drafted to the Atlanta Braves organization...majoring in exercise physiology.
