2009: Made 18 appearances including seven starts...tied for a team-high with four wins...ranks 11th in school history with 11 career victories...tallied a 4-3 record with a 6.15 ERA...finished with a season-best 37 strikeouts in 41.0 innings on the hill...worked 10.2 frames out of the bullpen...held right-handed batters to a .245 batting average...earned victories in first two starts to open the season against Old Dominion and Radford (2/20; 2/27) his first two wins he collected 11 strikeouts in 10 innings on the mound...fired 2.0 scoreless relief frames with four strikeouts to pick up the win vs. UAB (4/11).

2008: Appeared in 24 games, started one against Cincinnati (3/5)...registered a 3-1 record and 4.50 ERA in 24.0 innings pitched...tossed 3.2 solid frames of relief with one strikeout and one walk to earn 3-0 win against NC State (3/26)...hurled 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to pick up second win against Eastern Kentucky (4/15)...pitched 3.0 scoreless innings and tossed season-high three strikeouts against Southern Miss (5/24) to earn third victory of season...twirled 13.1 innings of scoreless relief.

2007: Started seven games and made 12 appearances in first season at Marshall...struck out 27 batters in 39.1 innings...recorded eight strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work at James Madison (3/21)...surrendered just two runs on two hits in 5.0 innings in 9-3 win against Buffalo (3/4) in first start.

Prior to Marshall: Attended the University of Arizona.

High School: Earned honorable mention all-league honors as senior at Los Gatos earned league championship his senior year and also was CC5 runners up...member of South Florida Elite summer team that earned second in state...played at Palmetto Senior High his freshman year before transferring to Los Gatos.

Personal: Born June 26, 1987...son of Jeff and Gayle Kiel...has one sister, Alexa...majoring in political science with a minor in Spanish.
