Career: A multitool player with tremendous versatility...played third base for his entire pre-Marshall career and first two years with the Herd before splitting time between third base and right field during his senior season...moved to the outfield where he could showcase his plus arm following his junior season...played in the shadows of older brother Rhett through end of 2011 season...emerged as a consistent producer at the end of 2011 season before leading the team in home runs in 2012 and 2013.

2013: Made 52 starts (27 in right field, 23 at third base, one in left, and one at second)...batted .240 with 14 multihit games, including a team-best six three-hit games...had three hits in both games of a doubleheader against North Carolina A&T (2/24)...led the team in triples and homers (three each)...also hit 12 doubles...scored 32 runs and drove in 23...stole multiple bases twice and finished the season with eight swipes...shared the team's lead in outfield assists (four) with Eric Escobedo...was hit by a pitch seven times, most on the team...batted .333 (9-for-27) with four doubles in February.

2012 Summer League: Played for the West Virginia Miners of the Prospect League alongside teammates Sergio Leon and Kolin Stanley...batted .286 with 11 homers, 36 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases...appeared mostly in right field where he recorded nine assists on the year...doubled in one of his two at-bats at the all-star game...batted .333 in postseason play.

2012: Made 52 starts, all at third base...batted mainly in the two-hole...hit .252 and slugged .383 with eight doubles, three triples, and five home runs...hit his final homer of the season in a victory over No. 13 UCF (5/12)...both triples came in Conference USA action: Memphis (4/6) and East Carolina (5/6)...drove in 25 runs which was third on the team...tallied 14 multihit games with four three-hit games...stole nine bases in 12 attempts...ended the season on a season-high nine game hitting streak.

2011: Started in 38 games, all at third base...batted .277 (39-for-141)...emerged late in the season with 19 hits in his final 58 at-bats (.328)...hit four of his five home runs for the season during that stretch...slugged .447 for the season...drove in 20 runs and scored 27 times...went 4-for-5 with six RBIs, two home runs (one grand slam), and a double at Memphis (4/30)...strung together home runs in three consecutive games against Southern Miss. (4/23) and Memphis (4/29-4/30).

Prior to Marshall: Played third base for one season at Spartanburg Methodist College (JC)...collected a .320 batting average.

2010 Summer League: Played for the West Virginia Miners of the Prospect League...batted .239...registered a .375 on-base percentage and tied for the team lead in triples.

High School: A three-year letter-winner at Cheraw HS...all-state selection as a senior and two-time all-region pick...named team MVP in 2009...earned a spot in the North/South All-Star Game...honored as the Lewis Meiklejohn Award winner for being the top senior athlete in 2009...ended career at Cheraw HS with a .324 batting average, 70 runs, 75 hits, 13 doubles, 11 homers and 62 RBI...also was a standout on the football team.

Personal: Born May 23, 1991...son of Randy and Jackie Stafford...older brother Rhett played for the Herd from 2008 to 2011...majoring in business administration.
