Major League Career: Debuted with the Oakland Athletics at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on August 3, 2012...lasted six innings with five hits, an (earned) run, a walk, and five strikeouts against the Toronto Blue Jays...was in line for the winning decision until the A's pen blew a ninth-inning lead...wound up getting his first win two starts later when he pitched 6.1 innings of shutout ball against the Royals (8/16/12)...became the first former Marshall pitcher to win a Major League game since Rick Reed in 2003...finished 2012: 39.1 IP, 36 H, 19 R, 17 ER, 11 HR, 16 BB, 32 SO, 2-1 W-L, 3.89 ERA, 7 starts...spent 2013 bouncing back and forth between the A's starting rotation and Triple-A Sacramento.

Career: Played two seasons under Coach Waggoner before moving on to the next level...earned a spot in the starting rotation for the Midland Rockhounds (Double-A) and played there for a year and a half before being promoted to the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats...eventually received another promotion (August 2, 2012) to the Majors.

2009: Made 13 starts and posted a 4-3 record with an earned run average of 4.27...struck out 58 in 71.2 innings pitched...had a streak of three starts where he struck out 23 over 20.0 innings (3/15-3/27)...handed in seven quality starts.

2008: Made 15 starts in 16 appearances on the hill...earned a 5-4 record...named to the C-USA All-Tournament team...tied for second on single-season games started list (15)...recorded a 4.28 ERA...tossed second-best 57 strikeouts in 82.0 innings pitched (second best on squad)...dealt season-high seven strikeouts against Valparaiso (3/11) to earn first win...allowed zero runs in 5.0 inning, four-strikeout start against Delaware State (5/10)...tossed 2.0 innings of scoreless relief to earn victory over Southern Miss (5/25) in C-USA tournament action...hurled season-high 7.2 innings during tournament play against Southern Miss (5/23)...allowed just one hit and dealt three strikeouts in 6.0-inning start against Memphis (3/30).

Prior To Marshall:Attended Western Oregon University

High School:Named second-team All-Mid-Western League...tallied a 7-3 record with a 2.48 ERA with 65 strikeouts....allowed just 43 hits in 62 innings...hit .343 with 20 RBI, eight doubles, and two homers...earned honorable mention as a pitcher as a junior...played for the Springfield Titans summer team in 2006...played for the San Jose Seals summer team in 2007...also lettered two years in football.
