HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The Marshall baseball team played four and a half innings against Ohio on Wednesday at the Kennedy Center before entering an hour and thirty-five minute rain delay and ultimately calling the game off altogether.

Action came to a halt with one out in the bottom of the fifth when lightning was spotted in the area at 3:35 p.m.  Rain followed minutes later and continued for approximately one hour.

Once the rain stopped, further storms forecasted to pass through the Huntington area forced the cancellation of play.

Ohio scored two runs on four hits while Marshall recorded two hits, but the game, and all stats included, did not officially count.
