HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall baseball has announced the dates for its fall hitting league Thursday.
 
The Herd will offer six sessions that will focus on providing instruction in an organized and enjoyable atmosphere. The art of hitting will be addressed by Marshall baseball coaches and current players by Marshall baseball coaches and current players through drill work and evaluation of each participant’s swing. In addition to general mechanics, areas of emphasis will include situational offense, bunting, and the mental aspect of hitting.
 
The sessions are open to any and all entrants from K-12. The sessions will run on Sept. 19, 26 and Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24 with K-8 going from 6-7:30 p.m. and then 9-12 following from 7:30-9 p.m. The league will be held at the Indoor Facility at the Chris Cline Athletic Complex.
 
The Thundering Herd is coming off its best season in program history with 34 wins. The Herd was in the top 5 of 17 different offensive categories in Conference USA play this past season. Marshall was first in hits (315), RBI (189), home runs (36), doubles (69), total bases (504) and stolen bases (50).
 
The cost is $150 for all six session, or $25 per session. Payment will be accepted in the form of cash or check on the day of each session.
