Senior Josh King is looking to pick up his first win of the season

HUNTINGTON, W. Va.--Marshall baseball returns to the Tar Heel State this weekend as the Herd faces off in a three game series with North Carolina A&T.
Marshall is 2-2 on the young season, earning wins against Georgetown and Wake Forest in the Wake Forest Baseball Tournament in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Freshmen Corey Bird (Elkview, W.Va.) and Cory Garrastazu (Miami) had a standout weekend in their college baseball debut. In four games, Bird went 7-15, with four runs, three stolen bases, and a double. 
Garrastazu came off the bench in three games and started in the last, cracking four hits off eight at-bats with four RBI, a run, and a double.
Sophomore pitcher Michael Taylor (St. Albans, W.Va.) earned his first win of the season, tossing five scoreless innings in game two of a doubleheader with Wake Forest Monday. Taylor fanned four and walked two in his 2014 premiere.
NC A&T got a delayed start to its season after weather cancelled its opening series with Temple. The Aggies began play on Tuesday, grabbing a 8-6 win over Radford.
Charles Cantrell picked up the win, after coming on in relief of starter Tyler Boone. Cantrell tossed 3.2 innings, snatching two strikeouts while allowing three hits and three runs.
On Wednesday the Aggies were defeated by NC State 15-0. Righty Mitchell McQueen took the loss, giving up four walks, three hits, and three runs.
NC A&T offense  is led by junior designated hitter Micah Carmony. In two games, the Lakeland, Fla. native is posting a .429 average with a triple and three RBI.
Game 1: Josh King (Troup, Ga.) takes the mound against Boone. King has four K's and a 0.00 ERA while Boone supports a 3.86 ERA with no strikeouts.
Game 2: Matt Margaritonda (Freehold, N.J.) has an 0-1 record with a 6.75 ERA and two strikeouts. He will face off against Cantrell, who is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and two K's.
Game 3: Taylor competes against McQueen. Taylor posts a 0.00 ERA, while McQueen is 0-1, with a 4.50 ERA and one strikeout.
Marshall will head south next weekend when the Herd faces off against four teams in the Caravelle Resort Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Marshall will face James Madison, Duke, Coastal Carolina, and Rhode Island.
