Senior pitcher Wayland Moore allowed no runs in 6.0 innings pitched against North Carolina A&T and is the Marshall Student-Athlete of the Week.
Moore (1-0) retired the first 13 hitters he faced, carrying a perfect game into the fifth until he allowed his first - and only - hit. Moore struck out six, including three looking and helped Marshall shut out North Carolina A&T 3-0 on Sunday in Greensboro. It was the final of a three-game series which Marshall won 2-1.
Moore, from McCloud, Okla., is in his second season with the Thundering Herd after transferring from Seminole State Junior College.
