CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Marshall University and No. 19 East Carolina are at a 1-1 deadlock in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two of Friday's Conference USA doubleheader. The game was suspended due to inclement weather and will be resumed on Sunday at a time to be determined.

Sophomore catcher Victor Gomez drilled his sixth homer of the season in the bottom of the second inning to give Marshall a 1-0 lead.

Junior starter Dan Straily pitched an impressive 7.0 innings before rain delayed his outing. The right-hander tossed eight strikeouts and scattered just six hits.

East Carolina tied the game on an RBI double to left center field by Austin Homan.

The Pirates received a six-inning effort from starter Seth Maness, who fanned four batters and gave up just five hits before rain suspended play.

So far in the game, sophomore shortstop Kenny Socorro has two hits, while East Carolina's Jared Avchen has three.
