Baseball to Host Two Game Series with Conference Rival Akron

Huntington, W.Va-The Marshall University baseball team will host a key two-game series with Mid-American Conference rival the University of Akron this weekend at University Heights. The games will take place on Saturday, April 13, and Sunday, April 14. The start time for both contests is 1:00 p.m.

Marshall enters the series with a record of 11-15 overall, 3-2 in conference, and currently stands in second place in the MAC East. Akron enters with a record of 10-13 overall, 3-3 in conference play. The Zips trail MU by one-half game in the standings.

Akron enters the series with a two-game winning streak, the most recent victory coming against Canisius. On Wednesday, Marshall broke a three game losing skid with an 18-5 victory over the University of Rio Grande.

Marshall leads the all-time series 18-8. In their last meeting, Marshall defeated the Zips 8-0 in 2001.

Admission to the contests is five dollars for adults and three dollars for children.
