HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—Marshall baseball looks to sweep Akron in the finale of the midweek contests slated for Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Akron, Ohio at Lee R. Jackson Field.
The Herd defeated the Zips earlier this season 5-2 at the Kennedy Center Field in Huntington. Marshall is now 14-20 and 8-9 in conference play.

Marshall handed UTSA its first conference loss over the weekend, defeating the Roadrunners 5-2 Sunday.
The win puts Coach Jeff Waggoner second on Marshall's all-time wins list at 171.
Redshirt sophomore Robert Fajardo (Miami) went 2-4 in the contest with two runs and a RBI.
In the Herd’s opening game with Akron, Fajardo turned in a 2-for-3 day with two RBI and a run and junior Sergio Leon (Miami) went 3-for-4 with a run and RBI.
The Marshall pitching staff held the Zips to four hits.
SCOUTING THE ZIPS
Akron is coming off a three-game sweep against Ohio, and enters the week on a five-game winning streak.
In the last contest between Marshall and the Zips, only redshirt senior James Shreltrown recorded multiple hits, going 2-2 with a double.
Junior Matt Rembielak leads the Zips with a .333 average and senior Brady Stewart leads the team with 18 RBI.
The Akron pitching staff supports an ERA of 4.00.
