HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall’s baseball team will hold open walk-on tryouts on Saturday, Sept. 22 starting at 9 a.m., announced head coach Jeff Waggoner Thursday afternoon.
All interested students must complete a health history questionnaire prior to 12 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20. The form, which can be picked up in the baseball office from assistant coach Tim Donnelly in the Cam Henderson Center, should be completed and returned to athletic trainer Tom Hammett in the athletic training room (located on the bottom floor of the Henderson Center).
In order to participate in the tryout session, students must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at Marshall University (12 credit hours for undergraduates and nine credit hours for graduates).
Students must also meet the NCAA's certification requirements and have a complete physical including sickle cell screening results prior to trying out. This physical and sickle cell screening can be completed at the Student Health Center or at a local doctor's office. Students will be responsible for all payments related to such appointments.
All paperwork must be turned into the baseball office no later than 12 p.m. on Sept. 20.
Students who do not meet all requirements will not be permitted to participate.
