Herd Baseball Announces Dates for Winter Camps

Oct. 20, 2017

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall baseball is set to host three winter camps and one hitting league that will be held in the Indoor Athletic Facility at the Chris Cline Complex from November through January.

The second camp held is the “Herd Baseball Youth Academy” on Wednesday, Dec. 27, and Thursday, Dec. 28. The camp will provide a great opportunity for a Christmas present for aspiring players. All elements within the game of baseball will be covered along with fundamental development for all individuals. Campers will take part in competitions and drills led by staff members, current and former Herd student-athletes. The cost of the camp is $100 for both days and is available for anyone from kindergarten to eighth grade.

The final camp being offered is the `Herd High School Prospect & Skills Camp,' which includes everything a prospective collegiate baseball player is looking for in terms of exposure and skill instruction. The camper will receive one-on-one instruction from the Marshall coaching staff along with current and former Marshall student-athletes. Individuals will participate in position specific work drills and learn how to prepare for college baseball. Positional players will go through a pro style workout while pitchers will throw bullpen with evaluations done by the coaching staff. The showcase will help educate individuals on the recruiting process and how to go about reaching their goals of playing college baseball. The showcase is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 14, and is open for individuals who are in ninth to 12th grade.
