Janovsky Rejoins Men's Basketball Staff

Former Herd GA named director of basketball operations

John Janovsky enters his third season as the director of basketball operations for the Marshall men's basketball team.

He came to Marshall after serving one season as the video coordinator for the Virginia Tech men's basketball program under head coach Seth Greenberg. Janovsky is no stranger to the Herd as he was a graduate assistant for Marshall during the 2010-11 season.

At Marshall, he worked extensively with the film exchange program and utilized the Dragonfly and XOS Thunder software systems.

Prior to Marshall, Janovsky was the coordinator of basketball operations at Duquesne University under former Virginia Tech player Ron Everhart for one season. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for three seasons.

He also was an assistant coach at St. Lawrence University for one season and was the Coordinator of Business Operations for the Huntsville Flight of the NBA Developmental League for one season. Janovsky is a 2004 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in business administration. He earned a master's degree in adult and technical education from Marshall in May 2013.
