Dan D’Antoni, head coach
On the first half:
“We started the game flat and took too many 3-pointers early in the game that were early in the shot clock as well. There was very little ball movement and we ended up digging ourselves a big hole.”

On the team’s mentality:
“Our team never gave up. They kept fighting all the way to the end, even when we were down 23 at one point.”

On the play that sent the game to overtime:
“We put [Jacob] Kilgore in one corner and [Austin] Loop in the other corner. With four-tenths of a second left, we were able to spread out the court. We had C.J. [Burks] set a screen and that left James [Kelly] open.”

Austin Loop, junior guard
On the game as a whole:
“Southern Miss come out hot they weren’t missing. We had a rough start we couldn’t get shots to fall. The funny thing about was, I struggled all game to make a shot and I guess I was saving it up for the right time.”

On his game-winner:
“I don’t know what I was thinking. I was about to throw it back to Jon [Elmore]. I couldn’t look at the clock so when I stepped back I threw it up, God was looking out. He was with me on that shot because it went in.”

Jon Elmore, sophomore guard
On the game as a whole:
“That was amazing. That was a lot of fun the crowd was amazing. Like [Austin] Loop said we struggled most of the game, we couldn’t hit a shot, we couldn’t get a stop, they hit shot after shot. We didn’t give up.”

On the final play of the game:
“I didn’t really know what we were going to do. The play broke down a little bit the clock was ticking. I saw Austin [Loop] in the corner. I had been talking to him the whole game. I said, ‘Man, you’re going to hit this next shot,’ and he did it so hats off to him.”

James Kelly, senior forward
On the tying basket with 0.4 seconds left:
“It was a good screen by C.J. [Burks] and then he threw it and that’s just what I do. I jump, and I finished it.”

Justin Edmonds, senior guard
On Senior Night:
“This game, I didn’t know what was going to happen. At times things were not falling our way, then at times we were getting calls and loose balls. I was leaning left and leaning right. It was an exciting game to watch. Leaving here I will always remember this game, and a lot of you will too. It was just a great game.”
