Tom Herrion, Marshall head coach
"Well, that's a crying shame. No disrespect to West Virginia, but we beat ourselves. We played too inexperienced during that big stretch and we contributed mightily to this loss tonight. It's just sad we couldn't get the job done tonight. Our youth shows at the wrong times."
On the stretches with a lot of missed opportunities
"We have to finish. We have to put the ball in the basket at the free throw line and around it. We have to play stronger and play through contact. We have to finish."
On WVU this year compared to last
"They're a good team, but we play a lot of good teams. They will be fine in the Big 12, but I'm more disappointed in us. We beat ourselves clearly, and we have to live with that the next couple days."
TyQuane Goard, sophomore forward
On the team's struggles at the end of game
"We missed some free throws. We needed to rebound more. We got moving a little fast. We're a young team and have never been put in a situation like that."
On the differences between the first and second half
"We took away from ourselves. This is how teams are going to play us all around the country and we have to learn to finish games better."
On the toughness of the game
"It's not too tough. I'm used to the physicality. I'm physical. I wasn't concerned with that really."
Kareem Canty, redshirt freshman guard
On the changes needed for success
"We just have to work. I don't know what it is, but we will work on it."
On inexperience possibly playing a factor
On the lessons learned from this game
"It wasn't as much inexperience as much as it was us just moving too fast. They were trying to speed me up and tried to get the ball out of my hands."
"I learned a lot. I learn a lot from all my losses. I learn a lot from wins too. I watch a lot of film. I'll have to go back and watch the film and see what went wrong."
