MEMPHIS, Tenn. - In hopes of getting back on the winning track, the Marshall men's basketball team will play one of the hottest teams in the country, Memphis, Saturday at 2 p.m.

The game, held at FedEx Forum, will be televised on FSN and thus, will not be shown on Herd All-Access.

While the Thundering Herd (9-10, 2-2 Conference USA) is coming off one of its largest defeats in school history, a 102-46 loss at Southern Miss on Wednesday, the Tigers (15-3, 4-0 C-USA) have won nine-straight games.

Herd Falls in Championship Game 83-57
Playing in its first ever C-USA Championship game, the Marshall men's basketball team fell to top-seeded Memphis 83-57 Saturday afternoon at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.

Junior forward Elijah Pittman leads Marshall with 14.8 points per game. Junior guard DeAndre Kane is just behind him with 14.5 points and is averaging a conference-best 7.3 assists per game. Historically, Kane has had no trouble scoring against Memphis with a career 16.6 average over five games against the Tigers.

Memphis is led by Joe Jackson's 13.8 points per game. Adonis Thomas (10.4) and Geron Johnson (10.2) also average double figure points.

The Tigers lead the conference and rank 11th in the country in blocked shots (6.11).

Memphis leads the all-time series 11-2 including a 6-0 mark at home. It is the first meeting since the 2012 C-USA Tournament in Memphis where the No. 1 seed Tigers beat No. 6 Marshall 83-57.
