HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -
Marshall's men's basketball team looks to break a three-game losing skid on Saturday with a 9 p.m. ET. tip-off at the FedExForum against the Memphis Tigers.
The game will be televised nationally on CSS and in the Huntington area on WSAZ with Greg Gaston (play-by-play) and Brian Oliver (analyst) calling the action.
It features Conference USA's top three-point shooting team in Memphis (38.5 percent) and the top three-point shooting defense in Marshall (30.0 percent).
Marshal (13-7, 4-2 C-USA) is coming off a 56-49 loss to UAB on Wednesday. Sophomore guard DeAndre Kane leads the Herd in scoring with 16.2 points per game, the third-best mark in the conference. Junior forward Dennis Tinnon boasts the second-best rebounding mark in the conference with 10.5 boards per game.
Memphis (14-6, 5-1 C-USA) is coming off a 73-51 win over Rice on Wednesday. The Tigers have won eight of their last nine games and are 10-1 at home this season. Memphis is led by sophomore guard Will Barton who is averaging 18.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
It will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams that were unanimously picked first and second by preseason publications. The preseason favorite, Memphis, leads the all-time series 8-2 including a 4-0 mark against the Herd in Memphis, Tenn. However, Marshall won the last meeting 85-70 in Huntington last season.
