Taylor Earns Conference USA All-Defensive Team Honors
Ryan Taylor is the first Herd player since Dennis Tinnon to earn the honor
IRVING, Texas – Senior forward Ryan Taylor (Indianapolis) was named to the Conference USA All-Defensive Team, the league announced Wednesday.
It is the first time Taylor has been named to the team and he is the first Marshall player since Dennis Tinnon (2012) to earn the honor.
This marks the senior’s third C-USA honor this season, as he was named to All-Conference USA’s third team earlier in the week and the C-USA Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 9. Taylor led the team in blocks (47) and defensive rebounds (6.6), while his 39 career double-doubles lead the league. Those 47 blocks are No. 9 in program history for an individual season.
The Thundering Herd (17-14, 10-8) will be the six seed in this week's Conference USA Tournament (Birmingham, Ala.) and will face off with 11th-seed Florida Atlantic (10-19, 6-12) Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT in Legacy Arena at BJCC. The game can be viewed on Campus Insiders.
