HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Austin Loop, a 6-4 shooting guard from South Webster, Ohio, was added to the Marshall men's basketball roster Tuesday.

Loop, who will be a non-scholarship player for the Herd, averaged 17.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.8 assists per game as a senior at South Webster High School last season. He was named the Ohio Division IV Southeastern District Player of the Year and received All-Ohio first team honors.

"We are excited to have Austin join our basketball family," said head coach Tom Herrion. "He is an outstanding student-athlete. Austin demonstrated throughout the summer his willingness and commitment in wanting to be a part of our program."

The addition of Loop means there will be five newcomers eligible to play beginning this fall. The other newcomers are Kareem Canty (Fr.), Tamron Manning (Fr.), Elijah Pittman (Jr.) and D.D. Scarver (Jr.).
