HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -
Marshall University's Athletic Department has several promotional events taking place for Sunday's 4 p.m. men's basketball game with VMI at the Cam Henderson Center.
The Marshall Ticket Office is offering a holiday ticket special for all general admission tickets purchased in advance of the game. Fans can purchase general admission tickets for only $6 (limit four per customer, this is a $5 discount per ticket) online at Herdzone.com, by calling 1-800-THE-HERD, or in person at the Cam Henderson Center Box Office prior to the day of the game only.
Marshall Athletics is also helping the Toys for Tots program. Fans are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped, toys to the game that will be donated to needy families for Christmas. Fans that bring a new toy to the game will also be able to purchase a $6 general admission ticket on the day of the game ($5 savings).
Santa Claus will also be located on the main concourse prior to Saturday's game and distributing small gift bags to children in attendance. Santa will also be available for photographs (fans need to bring their own cameras).
Legendary West Virginia high school basketball coach Lewis D'Antoni will be in attendance for a book signing prior to the game. D'Antoni, the father of Marshall Basketball legends Mike and Danny D'Antoni, will sign copies of his new book, "The Coach's Coach," beginning at 3 p.m. in the north concourse of the Henderson Center.
In addition, Marshall season ticket holders who show their ticket at the entrance to the Third Avenue Parking Garage or the Edwards Stadium West Lot will be allowed to park for free. This added benefit for season ticket holders is made possible for Sunday's game (and the Dec. 28 home game), due to the fact that the semester has ended and students will not be using those areas for parking over the holiday break.
