Finished Marshall career as a two-time All-Conference USA first team selection by league coaches at center (2013, 2014) after coming to the Herd as a 2010 invited walk-on from Page High School in Greensboro, N.C. … Played 4,040 career snaps, which led all 2014 active FBS offensive linemen … Started every game in his Marshall career – 53 – since being redshirted as a walk-on in 2010 (FBS-level school record). Only two players in major-college history have made more consecutive starts -- Hawaii center John Estes (2006-09) and Northern Illinois offensive tackle Trevor Olson (2008-11) made 54 straight starts, the NCAA record. Among offensive linemen, LSU's Ciron Black (2006-09) made 53 starts … Of 53 starts, 50 were at center and three at right guard as 2012 sophomore … Was voted season (and bowl) co-captain by Herd teammates for 2014 and 2013 … Chosen by Herd coaches as game captain nine times in 13 games … Following senior season, played in Senior Bowl and Medal of Honor Bowl … One of key team leaders on 2013 and 2014 teams that went 10-4 and 13-1, respectively, with two bowl wins, a Conference USA title and national ranking (Nos. 22/23 in final 2014 polls).
